Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: 25 August 2026
This policy explains how Zuno It handles personal information when you visit the website, create QR codes, join a workspace or use a paid plan.
1. Who we are
Zuno It is operated by Lion Marketing in South Africa. For privacy requests, contact peter@lionmarketing.co.za or call 011 453 4297.
2. Information we collect
- Account information, including your email address, authentication identity and security records.
- Newsletter information, including your email address, subscription status, signup source and an opaque device-access token stored only as a hash.
- Workspace information, team invitations, membership roles and plan entitlements.
- QR content and design settings, uploaded raster images, destinations and destination history.
- Billing references, plan status and subscription identifiers. Payment card details are handled by Paystack and are not stored by Zuno It.
- Scan information such as time, approximate city or region, device or browser category, referrer and a pseudonymous IP-derived identifier. We do not expose raw IP addresses in the dashboard.
- Technical logs, rate-limit events, security signals and communications you send to support.
3. Why we use information
We use information to provide and secure the service, manage the pre-launch newsletter, notify subscribers when the service opens, unlock eligible free designer controls, authenticate users, generate and redirect QR codes, supply analytics, administer teams and plans, process billing events, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, comply with law and improve reliability. Where applicable, processing is based on contract, legitimate interests, consent or legal obligation.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use essential authentication cookies, a workspace preference cookie, a remember-me preference and an opaque newsletter-access cookie that unlocks eligible free designer controls on the subscribing device. These are used for sign-in, security and service continuity. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. If optional analytics or marketing tools are introduced, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated first.
5. Sharing and service providers
Information may be processed by infrastructure and service providers used to run Zuno It, including Supabase for database and authentication services, Paystack for payments, and the selected deployment or hosting provider. We share only what is necessary for those services, legal compliance, fraud prevention or the protection of users. We do not sell personal information.
6. International processing
Some providers may process information outside South Africa. We use appropriate contractual and technical safeguards and select reputable providers, while recognising that privacy laws can differ between countries.
7. Retention
Newsletter information is retained until you unsubscribe or it is no longer needed for the launch notice and related records. Account and workspace information is retained while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, dispute and legal purposes. QR records remain until deleted or the applicable lifecycle rule runs. Detailed analytics retention follows the active plan. Billing and security records may be retained longer where required by law or legitimate audit needs.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, including South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, withdraw newsletter consent, or ask for information about recipients. Contact us to unsubscribe before automated launch emails are introduced. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where legally required. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
9. Security
We use access controls, row-level database policies, hashed invitation tokens, restricted uploads, encryption in transit, security headers, rate limiting and logging. No online system is completely risk-free, so you are responsible for protecting your password and promptly reporting suspected account misuse.
10. Children
Zuno It is intended for business and general audiences and is not directed to children under 18. Do not submit a child's personal information without a lawful basis and appropriate authority.
11. Changes
We may update this policy when the service, providers or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through the service or account email where appropriate. The date below identifies the current version.
